Former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev called on authorities not to simply “throw them out,” but to ensure stray dogs are given a better life. He emphasized the importance of humane treatment in response to the recent court ruling.

The Supreme Court has reserved its judgment on the petitions challenging the August 11 directive. In the meantime, it criticized civic authorities for their inaction and lack of adequate shelters and ABC rule compliance.
